It's beginning to look a lot

like Christmas. . .

at least inside the shop!

Ok, must stop singing before hubby hears me!

Chestnuts roasting

I mean hello everyone!

If you haven't taken a peak at the shop lately, you're missing out on some great little accessories for the winter season that is approaching.
YAY Happy clap!

(Oh wait, people not for our church don't understand that, oh, well)

Double Happy Clap!

Anyway, here are some of the new beauties in the shop!
Perfect for a mom and her little girl!

(cover your ears Sky)
See what I did there, Rosettes, Rosie hehehe

A bold statement

So that's what's new in the shop lately.  I'm hoping to add a few more items before Christmas comes.

I'm also working on some homemade gifts this year.  My nephews' gifts are complete!  Woohoo!

Still many more gifts to go!

By the way, this weekend is going to be QUITE busy!  I'm so excited.  My birthday is on Sunday but I pretty much get to celebrate all weekend.

Tonight I get to hang out with my wonderful mom-in-love and sister-in-love (I think) for my birthday.
(I got to hang out with my MIL Wednesday too and went to the beach and took some pictures.)
 Look how pretty!

Yeah I live like 30 minutes from this beauty! So beautiful!

Then on Saturday morning I get to visit some friends for a birthday breakfast!
These girls as a matter of fact:

Then I get to visit with my parents for lunch:
I think this is the only picture I have of my mom with a genuine smile, thanks Brandon!

Then it's time for our first baby shower!!!! SO EXCITED!

Then hubby has a surprised birthday thing for me Saturday night.

Then Sunday is actually my birthday! =P YAY!

What does your weekend look like?  Busy like mine?

Sneak Peak

FINALLY!!!!!

A week can feel like FOREVER, that is
when you just made some new items you can't wait to put up in your shop.

Have you ever felt like that?  And then the day that you get your camera back, it rains. So you have to wait longer. . . but who does that?

I'm so not patient enough to wait longer.  However, I don't want these really poor photos going up in the shop, but I did want to give my readers a sneak peak of some new items coming into the shop.

Without further ado, I present to you the NEW FALL SWEATER Line:

These lovely bags are made from upcycled/thrifted sweaters that have been washed and paired with some beautiful scraps of fabric.  Have any fun names for any of the bags? I will definitely consider any suggestions!

This little coupon holder is my husband's favorite item to date.  He told me we aren't allowed to sell it.  I told him too bad =P.  He was joking mostly, but he really does like it a lot.

I almost felt bad cutting up this sweater,

almost.

My mother-in-law suggested making matching leashes.  Anyone interested in that?

All of the above sweaters are going to be available in store as soon as our weather clears up and I can get some better pictures.  However, if you'd like to purchase one now, shoot me an email!  We'll talk about the details via email.

Also, this is going to be a custom order option as well.  If you have a favorite sweater that is too small, got a hole, or you just don't want to wear any more, ship it my way and let's transform that pretty staple into something new!

AND

Another new option in stores are custom order pillows made from upcycled T-shirts.

The pillow in the back is a gift for my nephew for his birthday but the one in the front is available for purchase also.

Do you have a favorite t-shirt you'd like to be transformed into a pillow???

Maybe not a pillow but perhaps a tote bag?
I can do those also!

There's going to be an example of a custom tote bag available coming in the next few weeks so keep an eye out!

I hope you have a TERRIFIC WEEK!

And don't forget, everything in the shop is 15% until October 1st with the code: FIRSTSALE!

Yesterday's Photoshoot and Recipe for Worst Night's Sleep

Yesterday I went to visit my family at their camper 20 minutes away.  I hadn't been able to visit them earlier in the week and so I wanted to visit them and I thought maybe I could have my sister do a little modeling for me.  She wasn't super thrilled to be modeling but we still got some good photos.

Hey look she does know how to smile!

And this is what happens when you're too lazy to walk over to the table to put the ones you've already modeled over there!  HAHAHA I just started attaching them to my dress.  Yay fun times.  There will hopefully be more products added soon, just as soon as this cold goes away!

I was hoping to take more pictures of products today but when I came home yesterday my face started melting (not a good sign).  Apparently, my husband, the sweetheart that he is, decided to share his cold with me.  By 4 o'clock, my eyes were watering, then the sneezing began and the runny nose.

Last night, I slept terribly.  So did my poor husband because of me.  The cycle went something like this: nose is stuffed up so I breathe out of my mouth, wake up and my throat's sore so I drink lots of water, go back to sleep for a bit again breathing out of my mouth, wake up to drink water/blow my nose, realize I have to go to the bathroom, struggle to fall asleep again, and repeat at least three times.

Today, I knew I had a free breakfast sandwich thanks to Chick-Fil-A so I got up and got showered and even  dried my hair, not because I wanted to look cute, not because my husband likes my hair better straight, but because I'm sick and it's pretty chilly outside.  HAHA How's that for motivation?  Then we went to the store and got TP and tissues and some other necessities.  I came home and crafted for a bit, but I think for now I'll take a break.  Just too tired/sick to do much.

I told Aaron I'd have dinner ready for when he gets back from tutoring.  Any good suggestions of casseroles containing chicken and rice that would be easy to make??? We have some rice we need to use up and my some I mean my husband made way more than we could eat with stir-fry recently.

Works in Progress

This week on the Scatter Girls Blog, they asked what were some of our works in progress.  I took these pictures yesterday of some of the things I've been working on in my craft room to add to my shop.  I received some free fabric from a friend's Mom, (thanks Sky).  So I've been using those a lot lately.  I have to admit the new items have an 80s feel but I'm totally ok with that for some reason. :)

One 80s inspired pin/hair clip in the making

New pretty fabrics from Sky's mom, plus the pink from an old dress I cut up.

80's kick??? Just maybe. . . or it's that whole I use what I have thing going on ;)

Just need a touch of rhinestones, a felt back, a pin and hair clip, then it's ready to be put in the shop.

Loving all the bright colors, hope you do too!

And something new.  This wreath will be available in shop when finished.

I'm also linking up with my friend Laura over here.

Transformation Thursday

What do you think of the new products?? Too 80s?

I'm also thinking of just having one blog since 2 are too hard to keep up with.  Unfortunately since I started this one, I think I'll stick with this one and just include shop updates every once in a while.  Do you think that's an ok idea???

Have any projects you've been working on lately?  I'd love to see pictures!

Recent Items and some new things I'll be working on

Hello there!!! I know that I posted some photos of our fun little photoshoot but I realized I forgot to post pictures of some of the new items that I really like.

I made this headband to wear to a friend's wedding and got so many compliments thought that I would add it to the shop.  It is one of a kind though.  I have more of the Galloon (I learned it's name finally: stretch lace) to make more headbands.  I am thinking about adding Galloon headbands to the shop soon as an option for purchase to turn any of the clips into headbands.

I just love this piece.  It's so pretty and elegant to me.  I love the colors together.  I have an old semi-formal dress that is pink that I've been trying to sell at yard sales (I only paid $15 for the dress), but it hasn't sold.  I think I'm going to turn it into some more hair pieces like this.  The blossom can also be worn as a pin.  Pizzazz!

Love this pretty white blossom.  It can also be worn as a hair clip or once I get the lace headbands up in the shop can be added to a headband! :)

I know this isn't a new item, but I didn't realize until the day we did our photo shoot that you can wear this necklace as a headband too!  How fun is that to have a dual purpose piece in your inventory.  LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!

So those are some of the recent items in the shop.  Here are some of my new ideas:
  1. Set of 4 Steelers seat cushions (made from upcycled tees)

    1. turning this into a custom item in my shop made from others' old tees

  2. Making make-up bags from upcycled tees (also to be a custom order option)

  3. Adding more lace headbands, as well as knit headbands to the shop.

  4. Adding more rosette statement pieces made from upcycled fabric (got free left over fabric from a friend).

I think that is all for now if you have more ideas let me know!!! Happy Crafty Saturday everyone!

Away for too long

Hi there!  Do you still remember me??? I've been away from this blog for far too long.  Unfortunately I'm finding it very difficult to blog at all let alone do both of the blogs that I have.  Life just gets a bit crazy sometimes. (ok, it's true, almost always).  Like today, after I get done with this and hopefully get some food in my belly so I'm not sick, I will be making a peach pie, possibly some homemade bread, and heading to a friends to go swimming with her and her kids.  Busy.  Just busy.

Another reason we've been so busy is that I've added a TON of new items to the shop.  Like doubled my inventory.  Have you seen the new items??? Well you should go take a look here.  Let me know what you think.  There are so many new items.  Here are some of my favorites!

The Ashley Headband

The Ilene Blossom

The Totally Me Blossom

My friends, Sky and Melanie, helped me out last week by taking the time to do a photoshoot with me.  I took all the items I had made to Sky's house and we had a little photoshoot/dress-up session in the back yard.  We had a ton of fun being together and being goofy and trying to make Toaster's Transformations better but having better photographs.

Here are some of my favorite behind the scenes shots from the day.
Showing Lanie how to work my camera.

Sky is just too cute!!!

Look Karen, I get different angles too :).

Yes, I make goofy faces.  That's why this picture is not up in the shop :).

 More behind the scenes action!

I love it!  So fun!

 What a cutie!

Yup, too dark, but way fun to have pictures of the behind the scenes happenings.

So that's what's been happening in my neck of the woods.  How about you??? If you looked at the shop do you have a favorite item?

New Item Thursday

I just discovered that Gina of #setupshop and Hiya Luv will be doing a linky party called New Item Thursday!

I created a few new items that I'm going to be adding to the shop shortly. I'm very excited about these new items.

These first two mini blooms are hair clips that are a perfect accessory for your summer outfit. Both are made from recycled tees and vintage buttons!

The next four flowers are able to be made into a hair clip, head band or pin.  If you let me know which you would like.  All of these are also made with recycled tees and vintage fabric covered buttons.

Thanks for taking a peak at some of my new items.  I hope you will stop by my shop to look at more of the items I have to offer. StumbleUpon
