First Haircut

Nope, not Zoe's Haircut, but rather Aaron's.  He had informed me that he'd like me to start cutting his hair so we were going to get some clippers and just do it.  I was scared.  I must have watched at least 15 youtube videos to be sure I understood what I had to do.  My hands were shaking the whole time.

Looks like a success to me.  

Now his hair has grown again and it's about time to cut it again.  Oh man, time to watch some refreshers!

Do you cut your husband's hair??? Have any tips?  Aaron doesn't just use clippers but also uses scissors to cut his hair.  It's been a learning curve, but I think I'll eventually get it :)

Bittersweet

Sunday was our anniversary.  I was so thankful to spend time with my husband.  We had church in the morning.  Then we went to Aaron's mom's.  I had made a pasta with cheese sauce and broccoli and Aaron cooked up some chicken when we were there.  I liked most of the recipe.  A little too much broccoli for me.  This day was so bittersweet because we were very excited to celebrate 1 year of marriage, but our favorite dog, really the best dog ever, not even kidding, will be put down today.  He is just suffering right now from liver disease.  I brushed Duncan for about 2 hours.  I just love him so much this is so hard for me to deal with.  It may seem silly, but he's the one that would snuggle with me when I'd spend the weekends at Aaron's mom's before we were married.  I loved this dog.  He kept me warm all night.  I've loved the dogs my family has had.  I still do, but Duncan was the sweetest boy ever.  He wouldn't harm anyone.  Aaron and I just snuggled most of the day as I petted Duncan.  We also watched River Monsters, yup, romantic.  Actually it was totally interesting to me as well as Aaron.  I know, glamorous anniversary, but it was important for us.

Now on to the sweet part of the anniversary.  Aaron and I took about an hour and took a walk around Mead Park.  One of my favorite places in the Erie area.  We spent a lot of time there when he was living with his mom.  I love Mead Park.  It was a bit chilly and a bit rainy but it was such a nice time to talk about our marriage and reflect on our first year.  What a special time.  We took our 2 year anniversary pictures at Mead Park.

It is also where Aaron tried to teach me to play tennis, (I have like no hand-eye coordination).  We took the kids that I watch there last year to hang out with the dogs.  They loved the dogs.  It was so sweet! 

It's where Aaron's mom helped me learn to use her camera.  So many sweet sweet memories in this park.  It was only fitting (to me) to spend our time there.  Plus we knew we wanted to be in Corry to spend time with Duncan.  We love him.

Happy Anniversary to my Husband!!! I know I've spent the last few posts talking about it, but today is our ONE year anniversary!!! I'm very excited to spend the day with him. 

Here are some of the reasons that I love my husband:

1. He's an awesome man of God.  Before we were even dating, I could see myself marrying him because he helped me grow so much in my walk with the Lord.  He'd call me and help me understand Scriptures that weren't making sense to me at the time.  So awesome!

2. He makes me laugh.

3. He's my handsome prince! (at this point he'd say I'm delusional).

 4.  He's wonderful about helping around the house (way better than I am).

5. He listens to me.

6. He desires to provide for our family.

7. He helps me to stay focused on the important things.

8. We really do compliment each other well.

9.  He encourages me to do better.

10.  He supports my crafting addiction, even though he wishes it wouldn't take over the entire apartment.

11. One day he will be the father of our children.  It will be amazing.

12. He wipes away my tears.

13.  He's willing to massage my gross feet for me =D (absolute winner right there).

What an awesome husband I have!  I love him so much!  Thank you Lord for a fantastic husband!

Thankful Thursdays

This wasn't as hard as I had anticipated it would be for this week.  Here are some things that I am thankful for this week.  Please be sure to link up!

1. God's grace, mercy, faithfulness.  I'm trusting Him so much more in this matter than I ever have before.  Why I feel such a great peace about this I just don't know.  He's sooooooo good to me.  I mean, I should have peace about it, but I'm still suprised because it's not like me to be this calm.  Thanks Lord for Your peace which surpasses all understanding.

2. The sunshine/warmer temperatures.  How about you?

3. Spending time at the library reading to the girls.  My goodness how they love it.  We've come to know most of the librarians by name.  Today in the car, 2-year-old was singing, "Mr. Bob, Mr. Bob, Mr.  Bob, Mr. Bob."  I said, "M, what are singing?" She said, "I sing a song bout Mr. Bob."  He's her favorite librarian after he copied a princess picture for her to color.  He calls her princess every time he sees her.  The girls are just smitten with him.  It's too cute!  They love all of the workers there though.

4. God's miraculous provision.  We received, almost EXACTLY the amount of money that we needed to be able to pay our taxes on time.  I think we have to pay about 50 out of pocket.  How's that for God's awesome provision???  Thank you Jesus for using Your Church to help us.  God is sooooooo good.

5. I get to visit my family this weekend.  I'm very excited to see them as I haven't spent any real time with them lately.  This also comes with a request for prayer.  Most are unsaved.   We desire that they come to know the Lord.  Please pray with us. My great-grandmother is not doing well.  This may be the last time we see her.  My grandparents on my dad's side are getting a lot older and may not be around much longer either. Please pray that God prepares the way for us to share His Word.

6. The support of friends.  My friend Melanie came over on Tuesday (when I found out my job will be ending) and just talked with me and took me to the mall to get my mind off of things for a little while.  I've also gotten phone calls and emails from friends and it's so encouraging.  Thank you for all of your prayers.

Best Husband Ever

This is one of the reason's my husband is the best husband ever.

He went out for a hair cut and came back with this =D. 

He remembered that I had been talking about them this month.  Then he brought one back for me as a surprise.  It's a Shamrock Shake.  We almost NEVER eat at McDonald's for many reasons, but I do love a Shamrock Shake during the month of March.  Thanks wonderful husband. =D =D

Oh and today he told me to go craft. Best. Husband. Ever.  Just saying!
