My First Sale

I know that I posted about my first sale before but I haven't really posted in detail and when I saw that Nicole over at Three's 4 Me was having a link up, I had to join in!

Oh my first sale.  What a happy night that was.  I was sitting on my laptop, hubby was on the desktop and we were just talking, and then I saw someone had favorited an item of mine on Etsy.  So I did the usual, send a thank you for liking something I made bit, because I truly am thankful when people favorite my items, I also like to let people know that they can contact me with any questions they have.  Well, this person did.  She wanted this item, but she wanted a sea mist instead of pink blossom.
OH, I forgot to mention, this was right after this clip had been featured on Casey Wiegand's blog.  If you don't follow her, you should. She's the SWEETEST EVER!

AARON!!! I think I MIGHT BE MAKING MY FIRST SALE.  I couldn't wait, I was so excited.  The very next morning I got up and made my custom order photograph.
I set to work making her custom piece.  And got myself to the post office.

This first sale, also led to my 3rd sale, as she came back to order another custom piece.  I was sooooo excited!!! I pray that God will continue to grow my business but in the meantime, I give Him thanks for the growth that I have seen!

OH and you can read her review on the testimonial page.

Thanks for letting me share again my excitement about my first sale.  And remember, if you ever want a custom order, just let me know!

Lessons Learned

***EDIT*** I forgot that Karen and her adorable daughter are heading to the US tomorrow to see "Papa" so she isn't doing the link up this week.  Feel free to stop by her blog anyway!  And of course comments with what you've learned this week are always welcome! :) *End Public Service Announcement*

My friend, Karen, does an awesome weekly link up party called Lessons Learned.

I've been meaning to write a post for quite some time now and have not been very good about doing that.

1. Do your Kegal exercises. Don't even ask how I know that.

2. Little boys are different to potty train than little girls.  Our friends Sally and Justin have the sweetest little boy Aiden.  I love him to death.  Last Sunday night at church, he wanted to sit with me then, he said he had to go potty.  I thought, "sure, no problem, I've potty-trained two little girls recently should be a piece of cake." Yeah, no.  I decided to go quickly so I just pulled down his pants.  Well he's a boy, which meant that he accidentally went on his pants.  Totally NOT his fault and if I have a little boy I'll need to learn to potty train him. Haha so different than girls.  Poor little Aiden.

3. You never realize how nice it feels to be able to make meals as you do after you've been unable to make meals for a few months.  So thankful that morning sickness is over for me and there's no more just laying on the couch all day for fear of being sick.

like making bread, for tuna melts. . . YUM YUM YUM.

4. It's super attractive when your husband flips through the baby names book and starts rattling off names.  Although agreeing on the names is a different story.
Swoon!

What have you learned this week???  Have you made any discoveries that you didn't realize before?

Feel free to write a post and go link up with Karen.  She's got an adorable little girl too ;).

Works in Progress

This week on the Scatter Girls Blog, they asked what were some of our works in progress.  I took these pictures yesterday of some of the things I've been working on in my craft room to add to my shop.  I received some free fabric from a friend's Mom, (thanks Sky).  So I've been using those a lot lately.  I have to admit the new items have an 80s feel but I'm totally ok with that for some reason. :)

One 80s inspired pin/hair clip in the making

New pretty fabrics from Sky's mom, plus the pink from an old dress I cut up.

80's kick??? Just maybe. . . or it's that whole I use what I have thing going on ;)

Just need a touch of rhinestones, a felt back, a pin and hair clip, then it's ready to be put in the shop.

Loving all the bright colors, hope you do too!

And something new.  This wreath will be available in shop when finished.

I'm also linking up with my friend Laura over here.

I'm also linking up here

And I'm linking up here:

Transformation Thursday

What do you think of the new products?? Too 80s?

I'm also thinking of just having one blog since 2 are too hard to keep up with.  Unfortunately since I started this one, I think I'll stick with this one and just include shop updates every once in a while.  Do you think that's an ok idea???

Have any projects you've been working on lately?  I'd love to see pictures!

Finding God in the Little Things

Today I will be linking up with my friend, Laura from, Along for the Ride.  She has started a new series on Tuesdays called Finding God.

Lately I have been finding God in the Little things:

 like two little pink lines:
Yep, that's correct, Aaron and I are expecting our first child.  We are ten weeks along right now.  We will be due in mid-late January.

That following Saturday we went yard-saling, our friend James was in town and helped us to find a terrific crib, mattress, bedding set, and additional nursery items for $170.  That's a fantastic deal friends.  Do I think this was God's providence?  Absolutely!!! Neither of us have jobs right now (although I am still paid through August, praise God), so we can't really afford a lot of things for baby.  Our friend James helped us buy our crib set.  We are so thankful that he was here, that day, when we found that remarkable deal.  We also found some other great deals too! God is in the little things, like having friends visit at the exact right time.

We came home from the yard sale to find this lovely package for me.

My awesome friend, Laura, sent me these earrings as an anniversary gift.  I absolutely love them.  You should totally visit her shop.  She has soooooo many wonderful things for sale.

I wear these earrings all the time.  I especially love the mum earrings in Green Tea.  I unfortunately have been terrible about taking pictures in them though.  :/

So what Laura didn't know is she sent me a Happy Anniversary, Happy Pregnancy gift.  A small little blessing from God?  Absolutely!!!

Lately, I have been hit by morning sickness, oh wait, no not morning, all day sickness.  I don't vomit too often, but I'm nauseous almost all day, everyday.  Hopefully this will clear up in the next few weeks, but even still, I praise God for this sickness, because He is allowing us to bring a little child into this world that we love very much already.  Not every woman will be blessed to go through morning sickness, because not every woman can have children.  So I keep reminding myself to be thankful even for this time.

I praise God that telling our families went better than we had expected.  We knew Aaron's family would be excited.  And they were, his mom jumped up and down and was super cute :).

My family is full of worriers, so we were a bit nervous about telling them.  While my family is nervous, they did also seem happy for us and for that I'm so thankful.  I found God in my dad's smile when we told him he was going to be "pap" again.   This will be number 4.  My younger sister is really hoping for a niece this time.  We'll find out in January.

So that's how I've been finding God in the little things lately.  How about you?
