It's the Little Things: Midwives, reorganizing, and picking names (maybe)

It has been quite a while since I've linked up with Lindsay for a Little Things post and I still have been terrible at taking photos.  However, I do have some little things that I'm very thankful for this week.

1. We went to our midwife appointment this week and baby is still head down and tends to be on the left side. Which is apparently a good thing. :) We absolutely LOVE our midwife.  She is just super wonderful.  So knowledgeable, caring, and a woman of faith.  LOVE LOVE LOVE HER.

Anyway, I had borrowed the book Natural Childbirth: The Bradley Way from her.  I'm so thankful that I did.  It was probably one of the best books to prepare me for childbirth/help me to learn better how to take care of myself during the rest of this pregnancy.  I recommend it to anyone who is pregnant/trying to get pregnant.

I also read parts of Back to Eden by Jethro Kloss and hope to get that book soon.  I was just AMAZED at how well some of his homeopathic remedies worked.  It also had a list of laxative foods/foods that constipate you, which is amazing to have right now.  Right, pregnant friends?

2. Also this week I took Tuesday and reorganized the closet in the bathroom.  It may not sound like an all day ordeal, but:
1. I have a belly that makes bending, reaching, stretching, climbing difficult.
2. We had a box of tools that had spilled on the floor and nails were everywhere.
3. I also took time to sweep and mop the kitchen and bathroom floors.
4. I could only work for so long before my left hip would start hurting again. Boo!
But praise God it was done by the time my husband got home from work.  YAY! One thing off the checklist before baby gets here.

3. And that leads me to the last thing I'm very thankful for this week.  We MAY have decided on names. Maybe. I like the names we've picked out and I think our boys name might be set, but Aaron wants to look at the name book some more. So we'll see.  I hope we stick with the boys name that we have. I love it.  For a girl we only have a possible first name picked out right now. I also love that.  I have a possible middle name in my head, but I think he'll reject it so I'm waiting for a while to tell him.

So that's what I'm thankful for this week.  What about you?

Little Things: Working Hard and Enjoying Fall

Today I'm linking up with Lindsay for

Aisle to Aloha

This week has been crazy!  Since last Wednesday, my husband and I have been back and forth between his dad's house and work/church events.  My husband worked very hard staining the deck for his dad.  I love that my husband is willing to work hard with his hands.
Yup, my husband worked hard and I sat outside enjoying the beautiful fall weather.  Rewriting recipes onto index cards instead of hundreds of different sized papers.

I love visiting Aaron's Dad's.  His dad lives out in the country.  Just take a look at some of these beautiful fall photos.

The view from his front yard.

The view from his back yard.

The view of the old horse pasture.

Isn't there something just so charming about the old wheels and fence??? Love it!

Oh and then I drove up the road to get some GORGEOUS photos as well
I took this photo and came home and needed to make it into a desktop wallpaper.  Please feel free to download it and use it for your own computer if you'd like!  Perfect for fall.

So this week I'm enjoying Fall!

It's the Little Things: Fairs, Family, and Fall

I was so excited this week that I actually remembered to take my camera with me more often.

Last Saturday, I went with a friend from church to the Edinboro Camp Fall Festival.  It was TINY and wet, but you know what I had a great time.  I didn't make much money, but I got to talk to some interesting people!  I also got to practice making displays for the future if I do more craft shows!  Oh and did I mention I only decided to do this about a week before the event. DOH!

Then we got to spend some time with my family after that.  We wanted to celebrate my dad's birthday.  Every year for his birthday, I've decided that instead of buying something (he's impossible to buy for) I will bake him a dessert.  When Aaron and I were dating and I would come visit Aaron I would usually bake him something and dad would ALWAYS ask, "Where's mine?"  So I've kept that in mind and dad now gets his own baked goods for birthdays and usually Christmas too.  This year he got peanut butter swirl brownies.

Please excuse the poor pictures, we were inside a trailer and people were laughing.
Yup my daddy is bald.  Yup he was going bald before he graduated high school.  Still love him though.

One morning this week I was super thrilled to have peanut butter and jam on homemade whole wheat toast. Yumm Yumm.  I forgot how taste that is!

This week my husband and I have spent quite a few days at my father-in-love's trying to get his deck stained.  Well hubby has been staining the deck, I'm sorta pregnant so can't be around all those fumes.  So I did laundry and took pictures for the shop.  My FIL has a lot of apple trees in his backyard and they were such great back drops.  Not to mention I was SUPER excited that I was able to get some depth of field with my little point and shoot.  It doesn't happen to often so I was super excited.  YAY for pretty pictures. And fall, yay for apples!

It's the Little Things: Heartbeats, carseats, and sewing

Like hearing baby's heartbeat as soon as the Doppler monitor is put on your belly.

Getting a brand new toddler car seat for free.  Our midwife had one and decided to give it to us. What a great blessing even though we don't need it for at least a year.  Still very thankful to have it. Unfortunately I have been terrible at taking pictures this week.

Getting time to sew.  I thinking I'm beginning to find my niche.  I'm loving making coupon holders, purses, and today I made a very pretty (in my opinion) pink and b/w houndstooth clutch.  I'm very much enjoying this process.
So the clutch will have 2 of those three fabrics.  I'm in love =D

Tomorrow I get to go to the Fall Festival at our denomination's camp for our area and take some product from my shop.  Praying that these items will be a blessing to others.

We've also had some gorgeous weather this week.  I'm a sucker for dark cloudy rainy skies in front of you and beautiful sunshine behind you.  It makes the most amazing gray skies ever.  I just love them. And then it produces rainbows.  Amazing!  Too bad I didn't have my camera either time this happened this week.

Little Things: Of a Lost Camera

Last Friday when we visited our great friends, the Schulers, I forgot my camera there.  It made me a little sad this week because I couldn't take pictures to put up for my little things post.  However, here are some of the little things that I'm very thankful for this week.

CONTACTS
I put in new contacts I think Sunday morning.  I absolutely LOVE new contacts.  It's so nice not to have my contacts glued to my eyeballs any more.

SALVATION ARMY
Praise God for Salvation Army!  Not only are they an awesome organization for the work they do to promote the Gospel, but I also love to shop there.  The greatest part is knowing that by shopping there I'm able to help others come to know Christ.  We were also able to donate our yard sale left-overs to SalVal this past week.  Its nice to have floor space again.  I bring this up because I was able to get some items there this week that will be transformed into new items for my shop :D.  We also got Where In the USA is Carmen San Diego? the board game!!! Can you talk about excited??? And for 2 bucks it's a steal.  Can't wait to play it with our friends!

COOLER WEATHER
I'm so excited about the cooler temperatures. That means that fall will be here soon which means many things: many birthdays (including mine), Thanksgiving and after that WINTER.
And Winter means: Christmas, New Years and BABY!!!!!
Also at SalVal this week, I got a beautiful coral sweater that I'm planning on wearing for my date night with my husband tomorrow!  Still not sure quite what we're doing but it'll still be fun!
MMMMM fall colors! Mums! Yay!

VISITING FAMILY
This week we got to visit our Aunt Sally and Uncle Jack!  We loff them!  Aaron had tutoring in their town so we made an impromptu visit.  We ended up spending most of the afternoon with Aunt Sally and got to spend a little time with Uncle Jack when he got home from work.  We played Settlers of Catan with Aunt Sally and she decided next time we play, she'll skip the wine. HAHA it made for a lot of laughter though!

KICKS
This Saturday was the first time I felt baby kick.  I can't believe I'm thankful for kicks but I am.  I'd be even more thankful if I could feel them more frequently so I know baby is doing alright.  Can't believe tomorrow we'll be 22 weeks.  WOAH! Like 18 weeks to go, Scoob! (Excuse the random Shaggy impersonation).

What were some things you were thankful for this week.  What were some of the little things that brightened up your day/week?

Of OJ, Ovens, and Craft Rooms

Last week, Lindsay of  From the Aisle to Aloha, wrote a "Little Things" post and asked if anyone would be interested in linking up.  I absolutely wanted to link up.  Her challenge is for us to find the little things throughout the week that God has done for us or little things that have made us smile/be thankful about.  Great idea right???

This week, I have been pretty sick with a cold.  Thankfully it seemed to disappear yesterday so that makes me so much happier.  When being pregnant, (who am I kidding), anytime I get sick I really prefer not to take medicine.  So one huge blessing this week has been God's natural healer: OJ or Orange Juice (not OJ Simpson, *shudders*).  I'm so thankful we were able to pick up some OJ this week.
Photo found here

Then there was the morning this week I woke up to get my glass of said orange juice and walked past the oven and thought, "Wow, that is really warm."  I looked down to see that the oven had been on ALL NIGHT.  Apparently when we got the casserole out of the oven we forgot to shut it off.  I'm praising God that we are still alive and doing well.  I'm also very thankful for our oven.  It was provided for us in our apartment and is definitely vintage.  Plus I love to bake, so it has served me well over these last three years.  It made me sad one day when our landlord said he was thinking of replacing it.  I mean just look at this beauty!

A few months ago, I was really pining for a space all of my own where I could create.  Instead our apartment had turned into a disaster area for my craft supplies looked like they had grown legs and crawled into every area of our apartment.  SO, my husband very kindly decide we would change our "game room" (really it's basically a large closet) into the craft room and set up the table for me and moved all of my wonderful supplies into the craft room.

This is my space.  It may be little, but it's my space.  It may look messy, but it's my space.  For that I am so thankful.  And despite the mess, these were all items that I was working on this week.  YAY!  I'm also very thankful for that little pink glue gun that I received via FreeCycle.  I lost mine and someone gave me one for FREE.  Praise God for that!

If you have some little things that you are thankful for this week, why don't you link up with Lindsay???

I'd also love to hear about the little things you are thankful for this week!
